Since the beginning of time, it seems that women have love, love, loved to chat, while men basically are very bottom-line oriented and offered little in the way of a response.

It's true...women DO have a gift of gab. But now we know there's a biological reason for it.

Women's brains have higher levels of "language protein", according to a study done by the University of Maryland School of Medicine. This protein apparently, is involved with "vocalization".

In fact, the average woman speaks 20,000 words a day, as compared to men who speak about 7000 words a day. (Unless they're married men, in which case that number drops big time, LOL.)

(There ARE exceptions, though. NBC's David Gregory admits he loves to talk so much, that someone once told him, "David, you're talking a hole in my head".)

Maybe this knowledge can be a big step in the sexes better understanding each other?
