It was out of a Hollywood movie...the pilot falls ill and you have to land the plane.
It happened in a small airplane over the eastern UK where a pilot became too ill to fly the plane. That's when a passenger, with no prior training, had to take over. Two flight instructors were calledin to coach the new pilot down to the ground.
The new pilot, an obvious quick learner, circled the runway several times before bringing the Cessna down to the ground.
The landing was a successful, unfortunately the pilot that fell ill didn't make it. His name or cause of death was not released.
When was the last time you had to learn something quickly? Was it a life saver?
