Yesterday marked the 55th annual Grammy’s award show. Of course everyone tunes in for the performances and to see if their favorite musicians take home any gold. I, on the other hand, tune in for the fashion. Okay and the performances too. While some celebs rocked the red carpet with stunning fashion forward ensembles, others should have possibly fired their stylist through text message. Here are some of my favorites of the night.
Chris Brown

I must stay Christopher cleans up pretty well. I love a man in an all-white suit. I realize a lot of guys are really into the slim fitting suits and for someone of Chris’s stature it looks good on him. Kudos Chris!
Carrie Underwood

Carrie looked gorgeous in this dress. I am not completely in love with the bottom half of the dress, but her silhouette makes up for that. She really accentuated her womanly figure and not to mention she was wearing a $31 million dollar necklace!
Solange

This lady is doing everything for me! She is becoming such a glamorous woman who is making a permanent mark into the fashion world. She consistently wows fashion critiques all over and makes fashion look effortless….as it should.
LL Cool J

LL has some a long way from Adidas track suits, big gold chains and kangol hats to debonair suits and bow ties. It’s no surprise for me to include him on this list because “Ladies Love Cool James” has been pretty consistent with his fashion trends regardless of the decade.
Justin Timberlake

Am I the only one who loves to see a man in a vintage suit? Justin was definitely channeling the cotton club/Great Gatsby era. I loved the old-fashioned black and white penny loafers and monogram suit jacket. So Hugh Heffner circa his early years.
Sting

I’m sorry ladies, but the guys really did it for me last night. For a guy in his 60s, Sting still looks good. He, along with LL Cool J, must have found the fountain of everlasting youth. I wasn’t really digging the skinny pant too much, but it’s Sting. Who is going to tell him no?
Katy Perry

Who would’ve ever thought the outlandish “I Kissed a Girl” singer would transition her way to fit well into the fashion world. Perry looked naturally stunning and it was a different look for her. It was more chic and less “look at me” sex kittenish. She was one of my favorites of the night.
Kelly Rowland

Say what you will, but Ms. Rowland showed out last night. If her objective was to make a statement, she did that and more! The peek-a-boo trend is really big for 2013 and she took it and ran with it. It was sexy, but tasteful. I’m sure Google has an overload of replica searches.
And now the time comes for some of the worst looks….
Estelle

Am I the only one who feels like I am looking at the wallpaper of a Cosmic Bowling Alley? Also, I didn’t like the fact it was two pieces. It was a complete miss for me.
Mr. Jay

Anyone who has watched America’s Next Top Model (before Tyra did the big chop of her staff) knows Mr. Jay can wear some interesting stuff. But how do you mess up a good suit? The poor guy looks like he rolled in baby power and Clorox.
Kimbra

I’m not completely sure I know what this is. Is it a dress? It looks like an ice skating competitors stolen costume. How about we just burn it?....
Alexia Chung

We all make mistakes….I understand. But there is a certain standard you are held at when heavily involved in the fashion industry. How are you a contributor for British Vogue dressed like spring time Barbie? Alexia…you know better. I know that you know better.
Ashanti

First of all who invited her? I don’t get this dress. The print is horrid and we can clearly see her undergarments underneath. It looked like a extra costume from West Side Story. Then to top it off she is wearing booties….why??? Obviously she didn’t get the Grammy dress code memo or the fact she is no longer relevant.
Adele

As a fellow curvy and voluptuous woman I was disappointed with this choice. It wasn’t pleasing to the eye and it made her look so elderly. I understand she wasn’t expecting to win anything and just kind of enjoying the night, but Adele, honey, we don’t need you wearing your great aunt’s sofa print. Call me. We could make magic with your figure.
With that said who were some of your favorites? Who do you think should or shouldn’t have made it on the list!! Talk to us!!
