It has been an interesting year in fashion and while some trends were as hot as the devil's kitchen on a fresh summer day, others were colder than absolute zero. In the fashion world we know that some trends will forever be timeless while others will die off as quickly as they were introduced. This list was compiled through office conversation, Facebook post and random discussion of trends that were popular at first, but we would rather not see heading into the new year. Of course we can not tell you what to wear or how to wear it, but hopefully this list will make you more aware of what you pull out your closet.
1.Basketball Wives Earrings

When ex-basketball wife Jennifer Williams, and a slew of non-factors, graced our TV screens with these large hoop earrings the trend exploded and we couldn’t get enough. But now? We've had enough. These earrings were fashionable, new and creative when they first came out. Unfortunately it’s time for them to stay in you’re jewelry case…forever. They’re overrated. They’re so yesterday and in
2. Men Skinny Jeans
This was probably the most popular response from those I asked on Facebook about trends they never want to see again (next to wearing tights as pants). Men in skinny jeans is something I think ALL women, and some men, are ready to never see again. Guys, do us women and yourself a favor. Wear real jeans. Let the skinnys go. Sincerely all women of the world.
3. Half Shaved Head

Though most of us thought singer Cassie was going through a midlife crisis when she shaved half of her hair off the trend eventually caught like wild fire. Some were successful with this look while others…. were not. After the shaved side started to grow in many women began to look like wilder beast. It’s just not a good look after awhile and it should have disappeared awhile ago. So let’s get a jump start shall we?
4. Over-The-Top Heel Less Shoes

Okay, I will admit this trend took some time for me to get into. Unfortunately retailers caught on to the trend and made it available ad nauseam. Once the general public were able to access these shoes they made an appearance EVERYWHERE! Granted, heel less shoes with some pizazz are some what stylish, but let’s take it easy people.
5. Tights Worn As Pants
Do I really have to explain why this needs to stop? Didn’t think so….next!
6. Hipster Glasses

The Run DMC glasses have run their course. As someone who actually needs prescribed glasses I don’t get the appeal. If they were used for prescription purposes I could see running around look like an extra from the sitcom Family Matters, but glasses that have absolutely no medicine, or lenses at all for that matter, are silly. I pray these glasses don’t make it into
7. Rainbow Ombre

Ombre is gorgeous, if done correctly, and I get some people want to be different, but no. Rainbow Ombre is one trend that should have never been created. I can not find anything appealing about looking like a human box of lucky charms. Keep this in
8. Hobo Chic
The starving artist look was cute when Mary-Kate Olsen made it fashionable. Now it is actually a fashion category and taken a life of it’s own. Please people stop the homeless look with the torn jeans, fingerless gloves, 15 layers of scarves and sweaters. It is hard to take you seriously when you’re holding a Starbucks cup and a name brand bag.
9. Labeled Accessories

Self titled jewelry and hats were just as big as the basketball groupies wives earrings. Necklaces, earrings and baseball caps that validated your existence from being labeled “POISEN” to “TAKEN” to “SINGLE” to “SEXY” or the ever so popular “BAD.” Thank heavens for that necklace because without it we would have no clue how to classify you! (Insert sarcasm here)
10. The Fake “Mustache” Trend

I’m not even sure how this trend came about, but it’s annoying. What is its purpose? Why is it even relevant? What makes it worse is that it’s literally every where. It’s on coffee mugs, nails, food, shirts, hair accessories, shoes, pants, purses, cell phone covers, bed spreads, wallets, jewelry… Seriously? Why would I want to have only half of the Pringles guys face every where?
I hope this post helps with future decisions regarding what to throw out in your closet. But please remember it's all in fun and just opinion!
Happy Holidays
